A grant of £5,000.00 has been awarded to St Ronan’s Wells Support Group SCIO by Foundation Scotland from the RWE Bowbeat Windfarm Community Fund. This will be used to contribute towards the costs of publicity and community engagement materials, and for help in raising awareness of our plans to take St Ronan’s Wells into community ownership and how we intend to use the building for the benefit of Innerleithen.
This grant will be invaluable. There are several grant awarding bodies that help with the purchase and renovation of historic buildings like The Wells, but it’s important to engage the community with our plans and, although this is not especially expensive, it can be difficult to get funding for it.
We’ll use the grant for at least one public meeting, for poster boards, displays, and leaflets plus some essential funding to run our charity – The St Ronan’s Wells Support Group SCIO.
