We can have The Wells for £1!
Yesterday was the first anniversary of the inaugural meeting of the St Ronan's Wells Support Group, and it proved to be quite a day.
There was a meeting of the Asset Transfer Officers Group of SBC on 14 October where they agreed in principle to our asset transfer request, but there was a question mark over the price; The Wells was valued at £210K by DM Hall and we had we offered £50K for it. However, a recent quantity surveyor's report identified £1.3M of repairs and renovations, and SBC asked DM Hall to re-consider their valuation.
Yesterday Erin Coltman (Participation Officer, Communities and Partnerships Team, SBC) contacted the group to say that the revaluation now valued the Wells at £1, and the Council were happy to offer it to the group for that price. We have accepted.
